Sword Art Online Turns 10 with Interactive Exhibit

Four-part hands-on exhibition lets you full-dive into the world of the series

Get ready for a full real-life Sword Art Online experience, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the original light novel series's publication!

Taking place at AKIBA_SQUARE, the hands-on exhibit—titled Sword Art Online EX-CHRONICLE—will be divided into four areas, allowing you to look back at the world of the story in all its different forms.

The first area, "EX-REALITY -Welcome to RATH-," will feature a life-sized entrance gate reminiscent of the entrance to the virtual world from the world of reality:

"EX-VIRTUAL THEATER -Dive into AINCRAD-" will place visitors in the middle of a 360-degree film experience using large film screens:

"EX-CHRONICLE -Birth of the Death Game-" will serve as a retrospective of the series so far from the point of view of a "game master." The contents of this section are derived from a comprehensive interview with Sword Art Online novel author Reki Kawahara.

Last but not least is "EX-STORE -The treasure market-," where fans can pick up series merchandise. More than 70 brand-new items will be on display.

Sword Art Online EX-CHRONICLE takes place August 4-18 in Akihabara. Ticket sales open July 17.
