Tune in to YouTube June 23 for a 28th anniversary treat
We could all use a little positive Sonic the Hedgehog news right about now, and a digital birthday mixtape seems just about right.
The Blue Blur turns 28 on June 23, and SEGA's official Sonic YouTube channel is preparing to drop an hour-long birthday megamix in honor of the occasion. The non-stop mix will include favorite songs from across the franchise's history. DJing the video is, appropriately enough, series sound director Tomoya Ohtani.
The video goes live at midnight Pacific time on June 23, but you can bookmark the video now for safekeeping. You'll also be able to watch it on the rebound later if you don't think you'll stay up that late:
Fans in Japan can head to SEGA's Tokyo Joypolis for a Sonic birthday party, which will feature a live viewing of the video. Attendees can pick up door prizes and limited-edition merch, meet the birthday boy, and chow down on celebratory chili dogs.
Even if you're nowhere near Tokyo, don't forget to tune in and enjoy the birthday mix with fellow fans around the world!
