Japanese Cosplayer Gets Guinness World Record for Largest Collection of Cardcaptor Sakura Memorabilia
"I am proud of being honored for Sakura-chan whom I can't stop loving the most."
Japanese female cosplayer Natsumi Shirahoshi in Tokyo reported on her official Twitter account on July 2 that the Guinness Book of World Records verified her as having the world's largest collection of Cardcaptor Sakura memorabilia.
She has collected the official merchandise items of CLAMP's internationally popular magical girl manga series since it started serialization in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine in 1996. When she received the award on May 15, 2019, she had 1,709 items, which surpassed the previous record of 1,086 held by Sofia Pichihua in Peru in 2017.
She says on Twitter, "I am proud of being honored for Sakura-chan whom I can't stop loving the most." Her collection has kept growing even more since then, now she has more than 2,000 items.
The former record holder Sofia Pichihua congratulates her on Twitter.
