Upcoming adaptation based on basketball manga by Takeshi Hinata hits Japanese airwaves in October of 2019
Two more cast members have been announced for Ahiru no Sora, an upcoming TV anime based on the basketball manga by Takeshi Hinata about a small high school student with a big heart who wants to turn his hooligan-filled high school basketball club into a winning team. The new cast additions include:
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Hyou Fuwa, a student who plays the positions of small forward and shooting guard for the Yokohama Taiei high school basketball club.
- And Yūto Uemura as Youzan Kamiki, a student who plays the position of point guard for the Yokohama Taiei high school basketball club.
The story of Ahiru no Sora follows protagonist Sora Kurumatani, a high school student who loves basketball even though he is only 149 centimeters (about 4'11") tall. After entering Kuzuryu High, Sora tries to join the basketball club to fulfill a promise to his mother and to win his first tournament in high school, but the club is dominated by punks and is no condition to compete. Encouraged by Sora's passion, they gradually dedicate themselves to the sport.
The original Ahiru no Sora manga is serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The TV anime is directed by Keizou Kusakawa and Shingo Tamaki and features animation production by Diomedéa. Ahiru no Sora will broadcast in Japan beginning in October of 2019.
