Shironeko Project Celebrates Fifth Anniversary with Anime Adaptation

New "ZERO CHRONICLE" series is due for release next year

Mobile game Shironeko Project is preparing to celebrate five years in service, and it's got several big announcements for the occasion—including an anime adaptation!

The series will be based on "Zero Chronicle," the game's third anniversary event storyline and the story arc voted most popular by players. So far, Yuuki Kaji (Eren Jaeger, Attack on Titan) and Yui Horie (Tsubasa Hanekawa, Monogatari Series) have been announced as cast members.

Animation will be handled by Project No.9 (Pastel Memories, Katana Maidens ~ Mini Toji), with Masato Jinbo (Senryu Girl, Restaurant to Another World) writing and directing. Taku Iwasaki (Bungo Stray Dogs, Black Butler) will be composing the music, and Yousuke Okuda (BLEND-S, Is the Order a Rabbit?) will be adapting the game's character designs.

The servers are also planning a Sword Art Online crossover in the near future as part of the anniversary festivities.

Shironeko Project: Zero Chronicle is due for an April 2020 release. No word yet on whether the game's spinoff, Shironeko Tennis, will figure into the series at all.
