Also a faster pace than the franchise's top-grossing film "ONE PIECE FILM Z" in 2012
It has been confirmed that the One Piece anime franchise's 14th feature film ONE PIECE STAMPEDE had earned an impressive 3.05 billion yen from the 2.31 million tickets sales in nine days since its release on August 9, which was seven days faster than the 13th film ONE PIECE FILM GOLD that spent 16 days to cross the milestone. It was also the fastest record for a film distributed by Toei since 2000. As reported, STAMPEDE already broke GOLD's first four-day box office record.
The franchise's top-grossing film ONE PIECE FILM Z released in December 2012 earned 3.18 billion yen on 2.61 million admissions in its first ten days, then made 6.87 billion yen from its total domestic run. At the stage greeting event held at the Shinjuku Wald 9 theater in Tokyo on Sunday, director Takashi Ohtsuka (Smile PreCure! series director) expressed his wish that the film would surpass the 10 billion yen mark.
