Ongoing adaptation based on manga by Amyu continues with more koto club adventures on October 05, 2019
The adventures of the koto club continue soon in the second cour of Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life, an ongoing TV anime based on the manga by Amyu about three high school students bonding over their mutual love of the traditional Japanese musical instrument, and now voice actress Nao Tōyama is joining the cast.
Tōyama will play the role of Akira Doujima (not pictured), an heiress and skilled koto player who takes on the role of the Tokise High koto club instructor.
The original Kono Oto Tomare! manga is serialized in Shueisha's Jump Square manga magazine. The Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life TV anime is currently available via streaming in the U.S. from Funimation, who describe the story of the series as follows:
Down to its last member, the koto club will accept anyone who is interested in the traditional Japanese instrument. But when a delinquent and a prodigy player sign up, finding harmony isn’t going to be easy—especially not with ensemble competitions looming around the corner. With enough time and some incredible skill at the strings, perhaps this motley crew can strike a chord with the judges.
The Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life TV anime is directed by Ryoma Mizuno and features animation production by Platinum Vision. The series will continue with its second cour in Japan on Tokyo MX, BS11, and other stations beginning on October 05, 2019.
