One-of-a-kind statues of Mangetsu and Shingetsu retail for a whopping 2.4 million yen each
You can't keep a good mecha-piloting magical girl down, and now two lucky (and well-heeled) fans will have a chance to own a piece of GRANBELM history, because the original TV anime is holding a lottery style drawing to sell off the one-of-a-kind life-sized figures of heroines Kohinata Mangetsu and Shingetsu Ernesta Fukami that were displayed at the AnimeJapan 2019 convention.
Produced by Wonderful Works Co., Ltd., the life-sized Kohinata Mangetsu figure stands 1551 millimeters (about 5 feet) tall and weighs 18 kilograms (not including the base), while the Shingetsu Ernesta Fukami figure stands 1861 millimeters (about 6 feet) tall and weighs 20 kilograms (not including the base). Both figures are made of ABS, while their bases are made of wood and polystyrene.
The lottery style drawing to determine who can purchase each figure runs until October 07, 2019, with the winners scheduled to be announced in mid-October of 2019 and the figures delivered in November of 2019. These magical girls don't come cheap, though, because each figure retails for a whopping 2.4 million yen (about $22,445 US), including delivery fees but not including tax.
GRANBELM is directed by Masaharu Watanabe and features animation production by Nexus. Crunchyroll describes the story of the series as follows:
It had been nearly 1,000 years since all the magic in the world disappeared, and most people had forgotten it ever existed. Kohinata Mangetsu is a cheerful high school student who has a pretty positive outlook on life, but she has nothing to call her own-- Because she wasn't good at academics or sports, she dreamed of having something she was good at. On a night where the full moon was shining brightly, she happens to meet another girl with the character for "moon" in her name named Shingetsu Ernesta Fukami. That was also when she encountered the mechanical dolls called "ARMANOX."
