The Colonel Sanders Dating Sim Is Real—And Free

Prepare to date the fast food mascot of your dreams on September 24

Fast food chicken mascot and actual human being Colonel Harland David Sanders has had several public faces in recent years. He's been played by everyone from George Hamilton to Reba McIntire, and has been portrayed as a wrestler and RoboCop. Now KFC is reaching out to us anime nerds, bringing us what appears to be a fully-developed dating sim featuring the Colonel as a hot anime boy.

I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger-Lickin' Good Dating Simulator is, for starters, completely real. It has an entry on the Steam website, a release date later this month, and a trailer that is somehow exactly what you'd expect:

Your protagonist is a student in a fictional culinary school amidst a colorful cast of friends, rivals, and a young Colonel Sanders. You'll need to do your best to make it to the head of the class, and hopefully catch the Colonel's eye in the meantime. Do well enough, and he may even take you on as a business partner.

Also, one of your rivals is a JoJo and your teacher is a Corgi.

The game hails from UK-based studio Psyop, who are the minds behind—among many other things—Travel Oregon's Ghibli-esque "Only Slightly Exaggerated" ad campaign. So this might not be as out of left field as it seems.

The game, which currently holds a place of honor on the memetastic @KFCGaming Twitter account, promises cooking battles, "battle battles," secret recipes, and a hidden ending. Who knows? We may get some serious Food Wars! style action out of this.

I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger-Lickin' Good Dating Simulator drops to Steam on September 24 for the low, low price of free.
