During the films subbed premiere on September 19 'Promare' trended on Twitter in the US
Promare – from powerhouse anime studio TRIGGER, and director Hiroyuki Imaishi (Kill la Kill, Gurren Lagann, SPACE PATROL LULUCO) – is one of the hottest anime films coming out from Japan this year, taking the world by storm. Its subbed theatrical premiere in the United States, from GKIDS, made the term ‘Promare’ trend on Twitter, hitting 9th place for all of the US.
Over the other side of the pacific, just hours after the announcement of 4DX screenings of Makoto Shinkai’s Weathering with You, Promare will be shown once again in Japanese cinemas in the 4DX format. At least if you see both back-to-back, you’ll be able to dry off with Promare’s HOT visuals.
The 4DX version of Promare will start screening across 76 cinemas in Japan on October 18, with other screenings still happening at certain cinemas across the country. Promare’s US theatrical run just started and is being shown in select cinemas across the nation, check GKIDS’ website for more details.
Our own Joseph Luster got to speak with Hiroyuki Imaishi and the team at studio Trigger about the film in the lead up to its US release.
