Watch Sumire Morohoshi Sings TV Anime Ascendance of a Bookworm OP Theme in MV

Mitsuru Hongo (World Trigger)-directed adaptation will be simulcast on Crunchyroll this fall

20-year-old voice actress Sumire Morohoshi's official YouTube channel has started streaming a 110-second music video for "Masshiro" (Pure White), the lead track from her first mini album "smile" to be released from Flying Dog on October 30, 2019.

The song is set to be featured as the OP theme for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Miya Kazuki's "biblia fantasy" light novel Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame niwa Shudan wo Erande iraremasen/Ascendance of a Bookworm.

Her most well-known and successful anime character is no doubt Ichigo Hoshimiya, the protagonist of the first half of the Aikatsu! TV anime series (2012-2016). She has performed many character songs (except the ones for Ichigo sung by STAR☆ANIS' Waka Kirishima) for various anime series, but "smile" is the first mini album for her to release under her own name.
