She’ll be working alongside an older and more experienced Miyamori in the upcoming film
The SHIROBAKO anime film is still a bit away – being released in Japan in Spring 2020 – but that doesn’t stop the hype key frames from being drawn! During the SHIROBAKO event on the Kyomafu Stage at Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair on September 21, a new character for the upcoming film was announced.
Kaede Miyai, voiced by Ayane Sakura (Ochaco Uraraka in My Hero Academia,Yotsuba Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets) will be joining Miyamori and the crew in the brand new film that is set a few years on from the original anime series.
Sakura said in the post to the SHIROBAKO film website that she was excited to be chosen for the film and she watched the entire series before she started recording her lines. About Miyai, Sakura said that she was difficult to play voice, as adults nowadays are just “creatures in a business suit,” but had lots of fun playing her.
