Gen Urobuchi-Written Original Full CG Anime OBSOLETE to be Streamed on YouTube in December 2019

Tokyo-based CG studio BUEMON works on anime production

The official website for the forthcoming original full CG anime OBSOLETE featuring 2.5 meter-tall consciousness-controlled general-purpose humanoid robots brought in by the aliens, called EXOFRAME (Enhanced Xenobiological Organic FRAME), opened today with a teaser visual and a 85-second teaser trailer. As an new "YouTube Originals" title, it will be streamed on YouTube Bandai Namco Arts Channel from December 2019.


Acclaimed anime/tokusatsu scenario writer Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Kamen Rider Gaim) is attached to the project as original story creator/series composition writer. Hiroki Yamada (Kaze no Matasaburo) and Seiichi Shirato (researcher for Code Geass, ID-0) serve as co-director at Tokyo-based CG animation studio Buemon.


Story introduction: 


Aliens revealed themselves to request trade with humanity. In exchange for limestone, they would provide a consciousness-controlled general-use robot known as an "EXOFRAME." Cheaper than aircraft, tank, or firearm, and easy enough for anyone to operate, the "EXOFRAME" spreads change throughout the world in the blink of an eye...
