New campaign links characters from the Fate franchise with popular Axe fragrances
With Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel III. spring song being released in Spring 2020, the home release of Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel II. lost butterfly last August, and the Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia anime series airing this month, the hype surrounding the Fate franchise is reaching fever pitch again, the Japanese branch of Axe Body Spray has jumped into the fray and decided to try their hand at the Holy Grail War.
The collaboration between Fate/stay night and AXE has AXE choose the fragrances that best match Sakura, Tohsaka, Illya, and Gilgamesh with brand new illustrations depicting the characters in casual clothes with the bottle of choice.
Sakura is matched with the ‘Aqua’ spray, which is billed as “a watery fresh scent that gives you confidence by wearing it.” AXE choose ‘Aqua’ because cherry blossoms (or sakura in Japanese) represents confidence and the mint brooch on Sakura chest inspires freshness.
Tohsaka, who is known for her red colors, is paired with the ‘Citrus’ spray, due to the Autumn connection. The ‘Citrus’ spray is billed as “a fresh citrus fragrance” that is useful for going out in because it has a light natural scent.
The young Illya is paired with the clean ‘savon’ scent. The AXE lab website says that the fragrance is useful for putting on after exercising or after a meal to refresh yourself and that it’s good for making a clean impression.
The main illustration for the collaboration is Gilgamesh paired with the most popular fragrance in Japan, ‘Essence’, playfully letting you know that you need some of the spray. The scent is recommended for clean men on the royal path and has a combination of fruity, flowery, and wooden smell.
Everyone who purchases an eligible fragrances from AXE will get one of the above 11 wallpapers. If you purchase between 1,000 yen and 1,500 yen worth of AXE products, you can go into the first lottery to win 4 clear files with the campaign illustrations on them, with only 100 packs being given out.
