A Kill la Kill star will be voicing the new sorcerer
A new Tenchi Muyo! OVA is on the way next year, and lurking in the images for it has been a mysterious new lady. Today, her name and voice have been revealed.
The lady in purple is a powerful sorcerer named Jovia Jovis, who calls herself "the Eternal 17-Year-Old." She hides her perverted nature behind her beauty and treats Kenshi and Ryo-Ohki as "playthings." Her voice will be provided by Ryoka Yuzuki (Satsuki Kiryuin in Kill la Kill).
Additionally, it has been announced that Kaori Oda (a.k.a. FictionJunction KAORI) will be performing the OVA's ending theme. Oda has also performed themes for Baccano! and Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE.
The first installent of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki debuted in 1992, with the most recent (part 4) premiering in 2016. Part 5 comes to Blu-ray in Japan in Winter 2020.
