Sony to Shut Down PlayStation Vue Service on January 30, 2020

You'll have to go back to getting your content from the PlayStation Store

PlayStation Vue

If you've been enjoying the past four or so years of streaming live television through PlayStation Vue, that service is about to come to an end. Sony announced plans to shut down PlayStation Vue over on its blog, with the drop date set for January 30, 2020.

Sony saw PlayStation Vue as a way to "rethink live and on demand television," but it was met with some challenges along the way. The company cites the "highly competitive Pay TV industry, with expensive content and network deals" as the key reason for the shutdown.

In the meantime, cord-cutters looking to stick with similar options will need to rely on services like Sling TV, Hulu+ Live TV, and YouTube TV.
