Persona 5 Royal Takes Over Shibuya as Game Releases in Japan

Recreates famous moment from the game and anime series

Persona 5 Royal

We never saw this coming! To celebrate the release of Persona 5 Royal in Japan on October 31, the calling card of the Phantom Thieves was displayed on the screens overlooking Shibuya Crossing, mimicking a very critical moment from the games and anime series.

Following the calling card was a modified version of the opening to the game that was released on September 10. The stunt was part of the launch celebration stream that had performances by the singer of the theme song, LYNN, as well as talks by the games cast. You can watch the opening video below.

Persona 5 Royal launched on the PlayStation 4 in Japan on October 31, with the western release coming in Spring 2020. It is an enhanced version of the 2016 game, Persona 5, with new content, including new characters, new modes, and a new semester. You can catch up on the story of Persona 5 with PERSONA5 the Animation on Crunchyroll.
