Silver Spoon Manga Author Explains The Reason for Long Hiatus

She has already completed its last four chapters a long time ago

As reported, Hiromu Arakawa's farming-themed manga Gin no Saji / Silver Spoon has resumed serialization in this year's latest 49th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday published today in Japan. At the same time, she posted a short message to explain her current status on the magazine's official website Web Sunday.

Arakawa writes:

"It's has been a long time. I'm sorry. The last time I wrote for this section was..., December 2015!? ...And just like the last time, it has become a season to take the lightsaber out of the closet...

Over the past few years, my husband and child have been suffering from a series of incurable diseases, so I have been tied up with high-cost medical care, papers, procedures, and such. I realized again that the Japanese insurance system was amazing. And I thought I would go to blood donation."

She also posted a three-panel short manga to introduce the moment when she received the last 48th issue of Sunday. She was very surprised at the announcement for the return of Silver Spoon because she had totally forgotten about it. She has already completed the last four chapters of the manga a long time ago and sent them to the publisher.
