Saint Young Men III will be airing on NHK
Your favorite holy roommates are back, and this time they're on the NHK!
Saint Young Men is based on the manga of the same name, about blessed buddies Jesus and Buddha deciding to take a holiday in the mortal world. They shore up in a small apartment in Japan, where they learn all about modern human life. The popular manga has also received an anime adaptation.
The first season of the drama was run on PicomaTV, with the second "season" appearing as a theatrical release. In the new season, the duo will continue their Earthly life, encountering such mortal wonders as shopping districts, family restaurants, and karaoke rooms.
Kenichi Matsuyama, (L, Death Note films) and Shota Sometani (Shinichi Izumi, Parasyte films) will be returning as Jesus and Buddha respectively.
Saint Young Men III will air on NHK on January 11 and 18, 2020. The TV premiere of the film will follow on January 25.
