North American trailer for Castle in the Sky from Ghibli Fest 2018:
Castle in the Sky will be screened in Cinema 10 at AEON Cinema THEATUS Chofu which boasts a 20-metre screen and is equipped with AEON Cinema’s “ULTIRA” theatrical system which has “unprecedented visual beauty and realism”, according the AEON Cinema website, and a sound system based on DOLBY ATMOS 3D sound format. While Studio Ghibli films are regularly re-screened in Tokyo, this is the first time Castle in the Sky has been shown in such a big cinema.
Gkids – who distribute the film in North Ameria – describes the film as:
“This high-flying adventure begins when Pazu, an engineer’s apprentice, spies a young girl, Sheeta, floating down from the sky, held aloft by a glowing pendant. Both Sheeta and Pazu are searching for the legendary floating castle, Laputa, and they vow to travel there together to unravel the mystery of the luminous crystal. But their quest won’t be easy, as soon they are being pursued by greedy air pirates, the military, and secret government agents, who all seek the power Sheeta alone can control.”
The Chofu Cinema Festival 2020 will be starting on February 29, 2020, and last until March 8. Tickets will be going on sale on December 23 for 1,100 yen (US$10).
