Luffy's character visual as a high school boy is clearly shown for the first time
Following the previous three featuring Zoro, Nami, and Vivi, Nissin Foods' official YouTube channel has started streaming a fourth and final "HUNGRY DAYS" anime collaboration CM for its popular Cup Noodle brand. The "Choujyou Kiba-sen / Summit Chicken Fight" clip is inspired by "The Battle of Marineford" from the original One Piece manga, featuring intense chicken fights by the One Piece characters at an athletic festival.
The pirate characters appear in the CM include Blackbeard, Whitebeard, Portgas D. Ace, Akainu, Aokiji, and Kizaru. And for the first time in the CM series, Luffy's character visual as a high school boy is clearly shown.
Under the assumption that "If the members of the Straw Hat Pirates are spending their daily life at a Japanese high school," the popular instant noodle brand has collaborated with the One Piece franchise since May 2019. As with the previous three, Eisaku Kubonouchi (Tsurumoku Dokushinryo) redesigns all characters, four-member Japanese rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN provides music, and Shaft (Monogatariseries) works on anime production. All of the characters are voiced by their original cast.
Cup Noodle's official Twitter has been posting countdown illustrations for the final CM since February 4:
