Happy-Go-Lucky Days Omnibus Anime Film Gets Time-Limited Theatrical Run from May 8

Kana Hanazawa, Mikako Komatsu, Fairouz Ai join the main voice cast



Dounika Naru Hibi / Happy-Go-Lucky Days, the upcoming anime film based on Takako Shimura (Wandering Son, Sweet Blue Flowers)'s short story manga collection book of the same name, will get a time-limited run in 21 theaters in Japan from May 8, 2020. Its official website has revealed each episode's main voice cast and synopsis. 


Shimura's original manga was serialized in Ohta Publishing's Manga Erotics F from 2002 to 2004, then compiled in two tankobon volumes. The anime adaptation is directed by Takuya Sato (Asagao to Kase-san., Fragtime) at Liden Films' Kyoto Studio.



Episode 1 "Ecchan to Aya-san":

 - Yuri, a girl who used to be popular among same-sex peers, has ended up marrying a man. One of her friends who attended her wedding was Ecchan (Kana Hanazawa), her girlfriend at high school, and Aya-san (Mikako Komatsu), her girlfriend at junior college. At their ex-girlfriend's wedding, the heartbroken two are attracted to each other--. 




Episode 2: "Sawa-sensei to Yagasaki-kun":

- A dull, unemotional graduation day. Sawa (Takahiro Sakurai), a teacher at a boys' school, is suddenly confessed by a student, Yagasaki (Seiichiro Yamashita). Despite Sawa's upheaval, the graduation ceremony still comes every year...




Episode 3 "Shin-chan to Sayoko": 


- Shin (Ibuki Kido) is temporarily living with her cousin Sayoko (Fairouz Ai), who has been disowned by her parents. When he is doing his summer vacation homeworks with his childhood friend, Mika-chan, out of curiosity, they watch an adult video that Sayako appeared. While having a feeling of confusion, they grow up on their own way... 




Episode 4 "Mika-chan to Shin-chan": 


- Mika (Kaori Ishihara) and Shin (Ibuki Kido) are childhood friends who are now in their second year of junior high school. While still captivated by the video that Shin's cousin Sayoko appeared, the sense of distance and frustration of puberty envelops the two in a real youth story.
