Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa Gear Up for Action in Monster Hunter Movie

Release date revealed for live-action adaptation of Capcom's popular fantasy video game series

Actors Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa pose for a promotional photo in full costume and make-up from the set of the 2020 live-action Monster Hunter film, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.


Heads up, hunters! A new promotional photograph and the Japanese and U.S. theatrical release date have been published for Monster Hunter, an upcoming live-action film adaptation based on Capcom's popular series of fantasy video games. The photo (above) features actors Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa in full costume and make-up on location for the film.


In Monster Hunter, Jovovich plays Captain Natalie Artemis, the leader of an elite United Nations military team who is accidentally transported to an unfamiliar world filled with giant monsters when her team is overcome by a sudden sandstorm. In this strange place, Artemis meets the Hunter (Tony Jaa), and they team up to keep the rampaging monsters in check.

Monster Hunter is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The film also stars Clifford "T.I." Harris, Ron Perlman, Diego Boneta, Meagan Good, Josh Helman, and Jin Au-Yueng. Monster Hunter will be released simultaneously in the United States and Japan on September 04, 2020.
