'Higurashi When They Cry' Blows Minds in New Trailer for TV Anime With Broadcast Date

The staff and returning cast was announced in Kadokawa's live stream

During Kadokawa's live stream on March 21, it was revealed that the previously announced "anime project" for Higurashi When They Cry will be a new TV anime, and we don't have to wait long for it, as it'll be broadcast from July 2020! A new trailer was released for the head rolling series showcasing the returning cast from the original anime and new staff.

 

 

After the previous announcement of Soichiro Hoshi and Mai Nakahara returning as Keiichi Maeyama and Rena Ryugu respectively, fans of the franchise will be glad to know that Satsuki YukinoMika Kanai, and Yukari Tamura will also be returning as Mion and Shion Sonozaki, Satoko Hojo, and Rika Furude.

Alongside Akio Watanabe (Monogatari series) as the character designer for the new Higurashi When They Cry TV anime, Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Please Tell Me! Galko-chan) will helm the direction of the series at Passione (citrus). The series will be composed by BLACKFOX composer Naoki Hayashi, with music from Kenji Kawai (Mob Psycho 100).

 

The original Higurashi When They Cry TV anime was broadcast in 2006 from Chiaki Kon (Golden TimeSailor Moon Crystal) at Studio DEEN. The new project will be broadcast from July 2020!
