The rerun of the first season is also moved to October 2020
The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Kaiu Shirai (story) and Posuka Demizu (art)'s dark fantasy shonen manga Yakusoku no Neverland / THE PROMISED NEVERLAND announced today that the broadcast of its highly-anticipated second season is postponed to January 2021.
The second season was originally set to premiere on Fuji TV's Noitamina midnight programming block in October 2020, but the decision for the postponement was made in response to the ongoing spread of the COVID-19 infection in Japan. Also, the rebroadcast of the TV anime first season, which was planned to begin in July 2020, is moved to October of the same year. This postponement also allows The Millionaire Detective - Balance: Unlimited to continue its broadcast in the same slot after also being delayed due to the coronavirus.
Teaser visual for the second season posted in December 2019.
The first season of the TV anime, animated by CloverWorks (Fairy Tail Final Series) and directed by Mamoru Kanbe (Subete ga F ni Naru), was aired for 12 episodes from January to March 2019. The first season is available on Crunchyroll.
