As reported, all of the shows of the stage play adaptation of Aneko Yusagi's fantasy light novel series The Rising of the Shield Hero have been postponed to a future date due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but the cast filmed a no-audience performance on March 27 for a DVD/Blu-ray release. A two-minute PV to introduce how they portrayed their characters on the stage is now streamed.  

The stage play directed by Ken Ougida (Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits stage plays) was originally planned to be performed at COOL JAPAN PARK OSAKA TT Hall in Osaka from March 27 to 29, 2020, then at Theater Sun Mall in Tokyo from April 2 to 12. A new performance schedule has not yet been finalized.

The no-audience performance was filmed at the Osaka venue on the play's scheduled opening day. The 7,000-yen DVD and the 7,500-yen Blu-ray are set to be shipped in September 2020. Pre-orders are now accepted on the online store Scissors Blitz.
