Fate/GO Fes 2020 Is Cancelled—But Expect Anniversary Festivities in "Another Form"

August event will not take place for the safety of fans and staff

This year's Fate/Grand Order Fes is the latest live event to cancel due to coronavirus concerns.

The event was schedule to take place at Tokyo Dome on August 10, and would (as with past years) have been an elaborate day of events, panels, previews, and one-of-a-kind experiences. As things stand, however, it would be difficult—if not impossible—to operate under Japan's currently health guidelines. Venues are expected to operate at 50% capacity or less, and the event was already set to fill Tokyo Dome to at least 90% capacity.

Pre-purchased tickets can be refunded through the website. In addition, the showrunners say that they are currently working on delivering a fifth anniversary celebration "in another form." More information will be available in time on the event website.
