GKIDS Announces Acquisition Of Forthcoming Studio Ghibli Film EARWIG AND THE WITCH For North America

Film distributor GKIDS has announced that it has acquired the North American distribution rights to the forthcoming Studio Ghibli film EARWIG AND THE WITCH, with plans to release the film theatrically in 2021. The film is being directed by Goro Miyazaki, son of acclaimed director Hayao Miyazaki, with input from the aforementioned director and produced by Toshio Suzuki. The film was an Official Selection at this year's Cannes Film Festival, and will premiere on Japan's national public broadcaster NHK this Winter before next year's theatrical release in North America.
