Humanoid Monsters Rampage in BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~ Anime Film Trailer

New key visual released for upcoming movie continuation of the 2018 BEM TV anime

Bem, a "humanoid monster" in his monstrous battle-form, prepares to fight while surrounding by lapping flames in a scene from the trailer for the upcoming BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~ theatrical anime film.

A dark new trailer and a new key visual have been published for BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~, an upcoming theatrical anime film that continues the story of the 2019 BEM TV anime, which is itself a reboot of the cult classic 1960's Yokai Ningen BEM ("Humanoid Monster BEM") TV anime about a trio of uncanny creatures disguising themselves as ordinary people and protecting humanity from monstrous threats.

The 2019 BEM TV anime is distributed in the United States by Funimation, who describe the story of the series as follows:

Libra City is a sprawling metropolis whose districts split the rich and the poor. Hiding among the populace are three humanoid monsters—Bem, Bela, and Belo—who protect humanity and hope to one day become humans themselves. However, when a Mysterious Lady threatens their way of life, Bem, Bela, and Belo are pulled into a plot unlike anything they’ve ever known.

BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~ takes place 2 years after the events of the TV series and follows Sonia as she continues to try to track down the "humanoid monsters". Her search takes her to a drug company called Draco Chemical, where she meets a man named Belum Eyesburg who looks exactly like Bem. Meanwhile, Belo continues fighting on his own in an effort to let Bela live as an ordinary human girl. After encountering Sonia, Belum begins having nightmares that make him question his own identity, and his peaceful, ordinary life with his wife and family begins to collapse...

A new key visual for the upcoming BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~ theatrical anime film, featuring the main characters posing dramatically in front of a blood-red city-scape at night.

BEM ~BECOME HUMAN~ is directed by Hiroshi Ikehata and features animation production by Production I.G. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in Japan beginning on October 02, 2020.
