Based on the adult visual novel spin-off of Little Busters!
After a few delays, Kud Wafter, the crowd-funded anime film based on the adult visual novel spin-off of Key's Little Busters!, has finally got its new release date of May 14 in Japanese theaters. A new visual was released to celebrate the news, along with the opening of the film's website.
The film was announced back in 2017 as the 10th-anniversary project of the Little Busters! franchise, which started in 2007 with the release of the first visual novel. Crowdfunding was opened to international backers, with an expected release of fall 2019. Due to production delays with J.C. Staff projects, as well as COVID-19, the 40-minute film was eventually sent out to backers in January 2021, though due to mail issues, there were more delays for international backers. Comments on the crowdfunding page confirm that the film is in the hands of some of the backers.
