Hikaru Utada's Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Theme Song LP to Launch Outside of Japan This Summer

Digital single available everywhere now, domestic LP to feature Asuka on the cover


Yesterday saw the long-awaited premiere of Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time in Japan, and with it came the release of the theme song by J-pop superstar Hikaru Utada. Coinciding with the premiere of the Hideaki Anno-directed music video, the single is out digitally everywhere now, and fans in Japan will soon be able to look forward to a physical release of the vinyl version.


According to the official Twitter for Hikaru Utada's staff, the LP release is due out overseas sometime this summer. In Japan, the various physical releases feature Shinji and Rei illustrations. The overseas LP release, however, will feature Asuka.

As for the film itself, despite debuting on a Monday it already boasts the biggest opening day in Eva history.
