Gladiator Fights to Survive in Cestvs -The Roman Fighter- TV Anime Trailer

New key visual and cast members revealed for upcoming adaptation based on Shizuya Wazarai's historical seinen manga

Cestvs, a 15 year old boy who has been enslaved and forced into gladiatorial combat in ancient Rome, grits his teeth and prepares to launch a devastating punch with his right hand in a scene from the upcoming Cestvs -The Roman Fighter- TV anime.


Put up your dukes, because a dramatic new trailer, a new key visual, new cast members, the OP theme song performer, and the Japanese TV schedule have all been revealed for Cestvs -The Roman Fighter-, an upcoming TV anime based on the historical seinen manga by Shizuya Wazarai about a 15 year old boy who is forced into the life of a gladiator during the height of the Roman Empire.


The new cast members announced for Cestvs -The Roman Fighter- include:


  • Rikiya Koyama as Zafar.
  • Kensho Ono as Ruska.
  • Hiroki Tōchi as Demetrius.
  • Yūto Uemura as Nero.
  • Kikuko Inoue as Agrippina.
  • Aya Endo as Sabina.
  • Ryota Takeuchi as Emden.
  • Sanae Kobayashi as Roxanne.
  • And Akio Ōtsuka as the Narrator.


The opening theme song, entitled "Endeavor", is performed by Dragon Ash.



Set in ancient Rome, Cestvs -The Roman Fighter- follows the life of Cestvs, a young man who is enslaved and trained as a boxer for gladiatorial fights in the Colosseum. Cestvs struggles to win his freedom and escape his grim fate.


A new key visual for the upcoming Cestvs -The Roman Fighter- TV anime, featuring Cestvs and the rest of the main cast posing dramatically.


Cestvs -The Roman Fighter- is directed by Toshifumi Kawase and features CG production by MAGIC&LOGIC and animation production by BN Pictures. The series will broadcast in Japan as part of Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block on Wednesdays during the 24:55 time slot (actually on Thursday morning at 12:55am JST) beginning on April 14, 2021.
