Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2021 Canceled Due to COVID-19

This marks the second year in a row for cancellation

Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2021

Last year, Konami had to cancel the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship that was planned for August due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, for those who were hoping to duel this year, the same decision has been made for the 2021 event.

Konami released a statement on its official website, pointing once again to COVID-19 as the chief reason behind the decision to cancel. As for what's in store for the series now that the World Championship won't be happening, Konami promised more updates in the future.

For now, here's a vague idea of some of the potential events to come:

With the cancellation of the world championship, "Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG/TCG" and "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links" will hold tournaments within countries/regions and a large-scale online event respectively.Further updates and notifications will be posted on our official website and various social media.
