New Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion Sequel Anime Film 'Walpurgis' Revealed

First teaser trailer and visual revealed for the continuing story

A new Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime film was revealed tonight during the online 10th-anniversary event in Japan. As a sequel to the 2013 anime film, Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion-, the new film, Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgis no Kaiten, is set to "continue the story" laid out in the earlier movie. The first teaser trailer was revealed alongside the teaser visual and the returning cast and staff.

All the staff from Rebellion return; with Akiyuki Shinbo as the chief director, Nitroplus's Gen Urobuchi writing the script, Ume Aoki designing the characters with Junichiro Taniguchi taking those designs and making them fit for animation, Yuki Kajiura as the composer on the film, and Gekidan Inu Curry returning to designing the Witches Spaces. All animated at studio Shaft. The original cast also return. It was not revealed when the film will be released.

 

it was also announced that the Puella Magi Madoka Magic: MUSIC COLLECTION and Puella Magi Madoka Magic: Ultimate Best soundtracks will be coming to streaming services worldwide at midnight Japan time.

 

 

 

 

Both the original 2011 TV anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and the 2020 spin-off TV anime series Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, are streaming on Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll describes the original series as such:

 

She has a loving family and best friends, laughs and cries from time to time… Madoka Kaname, an eighth grader of Mitakihara middle school, is one of those who lives such a life. One day, she had a very magical encounter. She doesn't know if it happened by chance or by fate yet.
