Final Fantasy XIV Fan Explores Eorzea on the Silver Screen
Can an intrepid employee of a temporarily closed theater acquire the hair-cut cosmetic of their dreams?

Tokyo is currently experiencing state of emergency closures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but that hasn't prevented one intrepid Final Fantasy XIV fan from grinding for the cosmetics of their dreams in an interesting new way: by using a movie theater projection screen as their monitor!

The story comes from @cinemacity_jp, a "semi-official" Twitter account dedicated to the Cinema City movie theater located in Tachikawa City, Tokyo, Japan. In the above tweet the anonymous poster (possibly a Cinema City employee) notes that although the theater is currently closed they "can't go home until they collect 2B's hairstyle catalog".
2B, the main character of NieR:Automata from director Yoko Taro and developers PlatinumGames (published by Square Enix), is currently appearing as a guest NPC in "Death Unto Dawn", Patch 5.5 of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. Her hairstyles (along with those of her partner, 9S) are available via random item drops from the final boss of The Tower at Paradigm's Breach, a 24-person raid dungeon.

Alas, it appears that our intrepid fan's search for the perfect hairstyle proved ultimately fruitless. Nearly seven hours after the initial Tweet, they posted a follow-up indicating that even with the power of "aStar-chan" (referring to a mascot character patterned after the aStar Channel, a type of projection screen setup used by Cinema City), they were not able to acquire 2B's lovely locks for themselves.
Better luck next time!
