Overlord IV will continue to be animated at Madhouse
As promised, the special live stream for the Overlord TV anime adaptation of the light novel by the same name revealed new information on the anime, and a whole lot of information it was! The stream revealed that not only will there be a fourth TV anime series, but an anime film as well! Two teaser visuals for the fourth season were released.
The cast return from the first three seasons of Overlord for the fourth TV anime, with the staff from Overlord III returning for Overlord IV at Studio Madhouse. The TV anime series is a continuation of the third season, while the film will be based on the "Holy Kingdom Arc." The staff for the film hasn't been confirmed at this point. No dates for the TV anime or film have been confirmed either.
The third season of the Overlord TV anime premiered in July 2018 and ran until October 2018. Crunchyroll is streaming every season, describing the show as such:
When a popular MMORPG is scheduled to be shut down permanently, veteran player Momonga refuses to log out. As NPCs begin to develop personalities and minds of their own he decides to put his skills to use as the game’s new overlord.
Another teaser visual was released for the 4th season, drawn by light novel illustrator so-bin.
