Otome Game Franchise Hakuoki Gets New OVA featuring Hyogo Sakai

A web radio show hosted by Shinichiro Miki will begin soon

Idea Factory's popular otome game franchise Hakuoki announced today that its new OVA (Original Video Animation) episode featuring a new character Hyogo Sakai is now in the works. The OVA's official website introducing a beautiful teaser visual of Hijikata holding his sword also opened.

The franchise released its first game in 2008, 13 years ago, and has been developed into a variety of multimedia projects, including TV anime, anime films, stage plays, musicals, live-action TV drama, and comics.

In the real history of Japan, Hyogo Sakai was a member of Sinsengumi, but deserted from the force around July 1865. There are many theories as to why he escaped, but it is said that he was later killed by Soshi Okita and other members. The voice cast of the character in the anime will be announced at a later date.
