My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission Film Gets 4D Screenings in Japan from August 28

The third MHA feature film has earned 1.67 billion yen in two weeks



The official website for My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes Mission, the third feature film in the My Hero Academia anime franchise based on Kohei Horikoshi's sci-fil action shonen manga, announced today that it will be screened in 80 4DX/MX4D theaters across Japan from August 28. Action scenes with characters flying through the air will be even more exciting with the 4D screenings. 


4D is an attraction-like experiential viewing style, where you can feel the chairs move, vibrations, wind, rain, water splashes, smells, and various effects according to the content of the film. 4DX is a product of CJ 4DPLEX, a Korean company, while MX4D was developed by Media Motion in Los Angeles, USA.

My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes Mission was released in 320 theaters across Japan on August 6, 2021, and ranked second in its opening weekend with 454 million yen (4.1 million USD) on 335,000 admissions. By the end of its second weekend, the film earned 1.67 billion yen (15.24 million USD) in total, and is expected to be top-grossing film in the MHA anime franchise soon, surpassing the second film My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (2019 / 1.79 billion yen).
