Adaptation based on Gothic manga by somato is currently streaming on Funimation
Good news for fans of all things Gothic and strange: SHADOWS HOUSE, the TV anime based on the manga by somato about an unusual clan of shadow-people who live in a mysterious mansion attended by their "living doll" servants, is continuing with a second season that has just been announced.
So far, details about the new season (such as the release date) are currently scarce, but a spooky new preview video (below) featuring new animation cuts has been published for the upcoming second season.
The original SHADOWS HOUSE manga is serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump manga magazine. Funimation describes the story of SHADOWS HOUSE as follows:
High atop a cliff sits the mansion known as Shadows House, home to a faceless clan that pretends to live like nobles. They express their emotions through living dolls that also endlessly clean the home of soot. One such servant, Emilico, aids her master Kate as they learn more about themselves and the mysteries of the house.
SHADOWS HOUSE is directed by Kazuki Ohashi and features animation production by CloverWorks. The first season of the series is currently streaming in the United States on Funimation.
