During the Hiro Mashima Fan Meeting tonight, it was announced that the Fairy Tail sequel manga series, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, which is written and storyboarded by Hiro Mashima and illustrated by Atsuo Ueda, has a TV anime series in production. While details on the series are scarce right now, a teaser trailer was released alongside a celebratory illustration from Ueda.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest is a sequel to Hiro Mashima's popular manga series and has been serialized on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket manga app since July 2018. Kodansha USA releases the series in English, with the eighth volume set to be released on September 28. The publisher describes the series as such:

Natsu, Lucy, Happy, Erza, and the whole Fairy Tail Guild are back in action! And they’ve decided to tackle the “100 Years Quest”—a job no one’s dared take on since the founding of the guild more than a century ago. A mysterious town, a baffling spirit, a ghastly new enemy … and a brand new continent to explore. When you’re with real friends, the adventures never stop!
