Ya Boy Kongming! Manga Gets TV Anime at P.A.WORKS in April 2022

The series follows historical figure Zhuge Liang as he gets transported to Shibuya Halloween

Chinese warring states military strategist Zhuge Liang (courtesy name Kongming) may have fallen ill and passed away back in 234, but 1,800 years later he is back, and ready to party in downtown Shibuya in the newly announced TV anime adaptation of the Ya Boy Kongming! manga series written by Yuto Yotsuba and illustrated by Ryo Ogawa. The two leads, main staff, and broadcast date for the series were announced alongside the first trailer and key visual.

Voice actor Ryotaro Okiayu, best known for Byakuya Kuchiki in Bleach, will be voicing the titular character Kongming, while Kaede Hondo, who is best known as Sakura Minamoto in ZOMBIE LAND SAGA, will be taking on the role of Eiko Tsukumi, though her singing voice isn't confirmed as of writing.


Directing Ya Boy Kongming! will be Osamu Honma (The aquatope on white sand episode director) P.A. Works, with Yoko Yonaiyama (Umamusume: Pretty Derby) as the series composer, and Kanami Sekiguchi (Shirobako) as the character designer. Joining them for the April 2022 premiere are:

Kodansha has been releasing Ya Boy Kongming! in Japan on its Comic Days! digital platform, with the publisher also releasing the series in English digitally. Starting November 22, it'll be moving to Weekly Young Magazine for print serialization. Kodansha describes the series in English as such:
