Sasaki and Miyano TV Anime Reveals OP / ED Theme Song Performers

Adaptation based on "boys' life" manga by Shou Harusono hits Japanese TV in January of 2022

Bad boy delinquent Sasaki is smitten by the appearance of his fellow student, Miyano, in a scene from the upcoming Sasaki and Miyano TV anime.

The opening and ending theme song performers have been revealed for Sasaki and Miyano, and upcoming TV anime based on the "boys' life" romantic comedy manga by Shou Harusono about a high school bad boy who develops feelings for a fellow student who secretly loves boys' love manga.

The opening theme, entitled "Mabataki" ("Blink"), is performed by Miracle Chimpanzee. The ending theme, entitled "Ichigo Sunset" ("Strawberry Sunset"), is performed in-character by Shūmei Sasaki (CV: Yūsuke Shirai) and Yoshikazu Miyano (CV: Sōma Saitō).

The original Sasaki and Miyano manga is serialized by Media Factory (a division of KADOKAWA) in their pixiv Comic manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from Yen Press, who describe the story of the series as follows:

It all started like a typical old-school boys’ love plotline—bad-boy senior meets adorably awkward underclassman, one of them falls in love, and so on and so forth. But although Miyano is a self-proclaimed boys’ love expert, he hasn’t quite realized…he’s in one himself. Which means it’s up to Sasaki to make sure their story has a happily ever after…!

A new key visual for the upcoming Sasaki and Miyano TV anime, featuring the main characters - Sasaki and Miyano - standing back to back in the hallway of their school while surrounded by the imagery of blooming flowers. Sasaki has his hands in his pockets and a pair of headphones around his neck, while Miyano is carrying a flip phone and two volumes of boys' love manga.

The Sasaki and Miyano TV anime is directed by Shinji Ishihira and features animation production by Studio DEEN. The series is scheduled to broadcast in Japan beginning in January of 2022.
