Mario classic paper-thing journey returns for a new generation
Nintendo confirmed today that Paper Mario, also known as Mario Story in Japan, will be the first game to head to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack since the new tier of the online system launched for the console in late October. The wooden Nintendo 64 game will launch for members of the Expansion Pack on December 10. Nintendo released a trailer to commemorate the news.

Nintendo describes the original 2001 game as such:
Mario may be two-dimensional but this adventure is anything but thin! Paper Mario brilliantly blends the hero's platform antics with a hilarious role-playing quest full of offbeat characters and wacky challenges.
Embark on an epic journey through the Mushroom Kingdom to release the Star Spirits imprisoned by a power-hungry Bowser.
Along the way you’ll fight enemies in entertaining turn-based battles, team up with a variety of uniquely skilled partners, discover secret minigames, and even bake a cake!
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack launched as an expanded tier to the NSO service, bringing Nintendo 64 games and Sega Genesis (also known as the Sega Mega Drive everywhere but North America) for the much-expanded price of US$49.99 annually. More games, such as The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Mario Golf, Pokémon Snap, F-Zero X, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, and Banjo-Kazooie are confirmed to hit the service at some point.
