World Trigger 3rd Season's Final Episode to Air January 22, Salaryman's Club Postponed a Week

The 14th episode of World Trigger season 3 was delayed due to the Tonga volcano eruption

After coverage of the Tonga volcanic eruption and subsequent tsunamis around the world upended the broadcast of the 14th episode of World Trigger 3rd Season last night, it was announced today that the final episode of the season will air in the same timeslot this coming weekend on January 22 in the NUMAnimation block on TV Asahi. Because of this, the premiere of Salaryman's Club will be postponed by a week as it is also set to air on the special TV block.

108,700 households in eight prefectures across Japan's Pacific coast were evacuated on January 16 due to a threat of tsunami caused by the Tonga volcanic eruption the day before. Some of the areas evacuated were the same as the areas evacuated during the March 2011 tsunami. Thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries and the only major damage was around 30 boats floating away, sinking, or capsizing in three prefectures. Unlike an earthquake-made tsunami, this one only brought higher tides to the regions with larger than usual waves crashing on the closed beaches.

Tsunami warnings were placed on coastlines all across the Pacific Ocean, from New South Wales in Australia to Southern California in the United States, all reporting higher tides and minor flooding from the event. All tsunami warnings around the world have been lifted as of writing.

News from Tonga remains limited after the eruption caused severe damage to external communication methods, though New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern reported that her government, which is sending aid and support, has been in communication with the government of the island nation and there have been no reports of injuries or death, but as communication between the islands of Tonga itself have been cut, news from the islands closest to the volcano have yet to be reported.

All of the World Trigger TV anime, including the 3rd season, can be seen here on Crunchyroll while Salaryman's Club, which now begins on January 29, will be available to watch on Crunchyroll as it airs on Japanese TV.
