The isekai TV anime continues on Crunchyroll on April 6
The Rising of the Shield Hero season 2 is getting closer and closer to the day, but to hold fans over until it premieres on April 6 in Japan and on Crunchyroll, a brand new trailer and visual has been released showing off what's to come for Naofumi and his party.
Crunchyroll announced in March 2021 that the second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero will be streaming on its platform as part of its Spring 2022 slate, with it available for the World Ex. Asia. The series was originally scheduled to premiere in October 2021 but was rescheduled to April 2022. The series is described as such:
Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero.
Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world.
But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?
