Nogizaka46 Member Yuuki Yoda Stars in Gunpla Making Drama Ryosangata Riko

"I would be happy if Gundam and plastic model lovers will watch over my growth!"

Yuuki Yoda, a 22-year-old member of Japanese girl idol group Nogizaka46, will play the lead role in TV Tokyo's new drama series Ryosangata Riko: Plamo Jyoshi no Jinsei Kumitateki (Mass Production Type Riko: Plastic Model Girl's Assembly Diary of Life), which will start airing in Japan on June 30. It will be her first starring role in a terrestrial drama series.

The story is about the growth of the protagonist Riko Komukai, an ordinary girl who asks herself questions about her work and private life, and through her encounter with the hobby of "plastic models," she is able to grow up to be an adult. With the cooperation of BANDAI SPIRITS, various plastic models that actually exist appear in each episode. The first episode features Mass Production Type Zaku from the Mobile Suit Gundam series, which inspires the title of the drama.

Message from Yuuki Yoda:

Riko Komukai, the role I will be playing, is an ordinary, so-called "mass-produced" girl who desires stability and peace rather than a passionate life and has no special hobbies or skills. There are many aspects of Riko's life that I can relate to, and I am very much looking forward to the days ahead as I assemble her life! I've just learned a little about plastic modeling the other day, and like Riko, I am starting from scratch, but I feel that I will grow to love it along with my role. I would be happy if Gundam and plastic model lovers will watch over my growth!
