Legendary's MonsterVerse Movie Series Continues in March of 2024

Director Adam Wingard returns for as-yet-untitled sequel to 2021's Godzilla vs. Kong film

Some quick news for all you fans of giant monster action: the release date has been revealed for next "MonsterVerse" film from Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Entertainment, an as-yet-untitled sequel to the 2021 Godzilla vs. Kong film. The movie will be released in theaters in regular and IMAX formats on March 15, 2024.

Details about the new MonsterVerse movie are currently scarce, although it is known that director Adam Wingard (Godzilla vs. Kong, the 2017 Netflix Death Note film) is returning to direct. Warner Bros. describes the story of Godzilla vs. Kong as follows:


Legends collide in “Godzilla vs. Kong” as these mythic adversaries meet in a spectacular battle for the ages, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond. But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe. The epic clash between the two titans—instigated by unseen forces—is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the Earth.
