The collaboration will take place right next to the upcoming exhibition
Earlier this summer, it was announced that Riyoko Ikeda's landmark shojo manga The Rose of Versailles would be getting a celebratory 50th anniversary exhibition. More news has dropped on the big event today, including a look at ticket pre-order gifts and word of a fancy collab café.
The Rose of Versailles 50th Anniversary Exhibition: VerBara Is Forever opened advance ticket sales today for the autumn showing. Pre-orders will come with this gorgeous clear file and handkerchief, each bearing artwork of Lady Oscar and Marie Antoinette:
It was also announced today that THE SUN & THE MOON, a combined restaurant/café space on the same floor as the exhibition, will be hosting a Rose of Versailles collab café.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a fancy afternoon tea with non-alcoholic cocktails:
Themed desserts, including a petite pound cake inspired by Marie Antoinette's beloved Gugelhupf and a Lady Oscar-inspired parfait:
And a variety of drinks, including a fruit rose tea, a strawberry smoothie inspired by Marie Antoinette, a tapioca soda inspired by Oscar and André, and the flower-garnished "Gardens of Versailles":
Orders will come with one of three "stand coasters," featuring Oscar, Marie, or André:
The Rose of Versailles 50th anniversary exhibition will take place September 17-November 20, 2022 at Tokyo City View in Tokyo's Roppongi Hills.
