Pop Team Epic Exhibition Hits Nagoya in December

"I Can't Help It Because I'm a Baby" at Nagoya PARCO explores the origins of Bkub Okawa's absurd manga & anime

If you just can't get enough of those lovable scamps Popuko and Pipimi and you happen to be in Nagoya in December of 2022, then you're in luck, because the Nagoya PARCO venue is holding an exhibition that examines the origins of Bkub Okawa's anarchic web manga and TV anime, Pop Team Epic.

 

The exhibition is entitled "Pop Team Epic-ten - Shouganee darou Akachan nandakara-" ("Pop Team Epic Exhibition -I Can't Help It Because I'm a Baby-"), and it features original character goods as well as production materials for the Pop Team Epic manga and the TV anime such as the original memo between Bkub Okawa and Takeshobo greenlighting the series, original drawings, storyboards, an exhibition of Shouta Aoi's costumes used in the series, photo spots and more.

Additionally, the voice guide to the exhibition will switch half-way through, similar to the A and B parts of the TV anime. From December 23 - 31, 2022, Yoko Hikasa voices Popuko and Satomi Sato voices Pipimi, while from January 2nd - January 9, 2023, Yuichi Nakamura voices Popuko and Tomokazu Sugita voices Pipimi.

 

The "Pop Team Epic-ten - Shouganee darou Akachan nandakara-" exhibition runs from December 23, 2022 - January 08, 2023 (closed on January 01, 2023) in the event space on the 7th floor of the Nagoya PARCO venue in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Advance tickets to the event cost 1414 yen (about $10.53 US) for adults and 797 yen ($5.93 US) for elementary school age children. Adult tickets purchased at the door cost 1600 yen ($11.91 US).
