The Anime Awards 2023 ceremony is officially in the rearview, but we're still thinking about all the great wins that were revealed during the celebration of all things anime. The winners themselves had some strong feelings about the awards they took home, so we're here to round them all up and give everyone another well-deserved victory lap.

Anime of the Year

 

Winner: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

 

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners writer Bartosz Sztybor was as pleasantly surprised as the rest of us when the show got the big nod at the end.

 

"Wooooow! @edgerunners just won the Anime of the Year award at @TheAnimeAwards! Don't have words to express what I'm feeling right now, but it's a damn nice feeling! Will write more soon but right now, I'm just happy and want to congratulate other winners, you all rock!!!"

The official Twitter account for One Piece author Eiichiro Oda's staff proudly shared their win with everyone.

 

 

Best Anime Opening Sequence

Winner: “The Rumbling” by SiM, Storyboard and Direction from Takashi Kojima, Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2

 

Best Anime Song

Winner: "The Rumbling" by SiM, Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2

 

We still can't get "The Rumbling" out of our heads, so this was a big one for fans and the band!

 

 

Best Anime Ending Sequence

Winner: “Comedy” by Gen Hoshino, Storyboard and Direction from Atsushi Nishigori, SPY x FAMILY

 

Gen Hoshino thanked everyone for their support upon learning about his win.

 

 

Best Anime Score

Winner: Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano, Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2

 

On his official Twitter, winner Kohta Yamamoto said he was really happy to be on stage with Hiroyuki Sawano, and would like to thank Sawano-san along with the staff—including director Yuichiro Hayashi—and all the fans who supported this work.

 

 

Hiroyuki Sawano gave all the credit to the power of the music of "KOHTA-kun," as well as the power of Attack on Titan. He also thanked the director and everyone else involved, and said he's grateful to previous chief director Tetsuro Araki and producer Tetsuya Kinoshita.

 

 

Best Main Anime Character

Winner: Eren Jaeger, Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2

 

Best Drama Anime

Winner: Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2

 

The official Attack on Titan Twitter account recognized its wins in six categories, and thanked everyone for their support.

 

 

Best Romance Anime

Winner: Kaguya-sama: Love is War -Ultra Romantic-

 

The staff behind the Kaguya-sama: Love is War -Ultra Romantic- anime were feeling the love in the air after their big win, thanking everyone for supporting the series.

 

 

Best Voice Acting Performance (Japanese)

Winner: Yuki Kaji, Eren Jaeger in Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2

 

Eren VA Yuki Kaji was very honored to receive this award, and thanked everyone from the bottom of his heart for meeting Eren.

 

 

Best Voice Acting Performance (English)

Winner: Zach Aguilar, David Martinez in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

 

Best English VA winner Zach Aguilar had the following to say about the win:

 

"Thank you to everyone who voted and thank you @TheAnimeAwards and @Crunchyroll for the honor! I honestly didn’t expect to win at all. Huge shoutout to everyone on the @edgerunners team who helped make this show a masterpiece. I just feel blessed to be a part of it!"

 

 

Yuki Kajiura also commented on the excitement of performing on stage at the Anime Awards.
